William (Bill) Smith
Bill founded the Ethical Brand initiative in late 2003 to, as he puts it, "conquer the streams of digital data that reveal the true character of brands". Bill has over 20 years of experience in the field of information systems, as an analyst, solutions architect, management consultant and entrepreneur ‐ founding one of the first internet service providers in London in 1994. As a serial trend-spotter who thrives on using technology to challenge the status-quo Bill has considerable experience leading professional service teams, visualising, developing and implementing high value projects - including a leadership role in the design, technical development and implementation of a global corporate transformation programme targeting 120,000 employees in more than 100 countries. His industry experience includes publishing, telecoms, defence and security, television, oil & gas, finance and insurance, travel, hotels, tourism, entertainment, cosmetics and luxury brands. Bill has personally incubated Ethical Brandt through 10 years of research, development and successful international market-testing. Along the way, Bill conquered the data and you can find out more on his personal blog: The Status Quo Report.
